Travis Penny is a commercial mortgage broker based in Apollo Beach, Florida with Maine roots and a Portland office. He started originating mortgages in 2004 and is still in the business today, with a career that spans the pre 2008 boom, the correction, and the rebuild that followed. He has originated across residential, investor, and now commercial channels, with his current focus dedicated to commercial capital placement nationwide.

The Capital GOAT is the brand he operates as a nationwide commercial brokerage. It draws on a network of 200 plus active capital sources, including banks, debt funds, life companies, agency lenders, family offices, and private equity, with collective placements measured in the tens of billions. Travis sources, structures, and places senior debt, bridge, ground up construction, hospitality, SBA real estate, HUD multifamily, agency permanent, mezzanine, preferred equity, and joint venture equity for sponsors and operators across the country.

Travis currently has $250 million in active commercial projects in underwriting and structuring, spanning senior debt, bridge, mezzanine, and equity layers across multiple sponsors and asset classes nationwide.

Travis brokers all transactions through Vision Mortgage LLC, the brokering entity of record. He works directly with sponsors. He answers his own phone seven days a week.
